SHEA BUTTER, ORGANIC

JuicyforSure™ only uses 100% organic, unrefined & fairly traded shea butter from African co-operatives.  True shea butter varies in color from buttery yellow to ivory.  If you see white shea butter being sold in stores, it means that it has been refined & bleached, completely stripped of all the beneficial nutrients that shea naturally provides. 

 

PRESERVATIVES

All lotions with a water component MUST use a preservative system, otherwise the product would turn into a moldy, disgusting mess that you wouldn't want anywhere near your skin!  Juicy uses a combination of food-grade and natural preservatives from the earth. Two food-grade preservatives we use are citric acid & potassium sorbate.  Some interesting botanicals with preservation properties that we use are derived from the ginger family, radish root and moss that hangs from trees in any great forest. 

 

ALOE VERA, ORGANIC

Ancient Egyptians called aloe, "The Plant of Immortality."  Carefully procesed from the inner fillet of the aloe leaf, with care taken to minimize disruption of the Aloin layer.  Aloe is healing, soothing and moisturizing.

 

CHAMOMILE HYDROSOL, ORGANIC

Best known for its ability to calm and ease the mind, Chamomile is also healing and soothing in our body care formulas.  We love the true floral aroma that comes from our organic chamomile hydrosol.

 

LAVENDER HYDROSOL, ORGANIC

A relaxing & balancing water, we love the aroma of our organic lavender hydrosol just on its own!  Ideal as a healing coolant on minor burns, rashes and hot sores.  Mentally refreshing and marvelous for our emotional well-being.

 

CUCUMBER HYDROSOL

This is the highly aromatic water obtained from the hydro-distillation of fresh Maine cucumbers.  With a scent so crisp & fresh, we love adding it to our Hydrate Body Lotions and international Body Butters!

 

PINEAPPLE SAGE HYDROSOL

Obtained from the leaves and flowers of the Salvia Elegans. Pineapple Sage is a spectacular tender perennial with red flowers that are loved by bees and butterflies.  This sage is appropriately named for its sweet pineapple scent.  The aroma of pineapple sage is light, soft & sweet and quite different from other varieties of sage.

 

NIACINAMIDE

An active form of Vitamin B3, niacinamide is a safe, non-irritating cosmeceutical ingredient which can improve skin texture and the appearance of aged & photo-damaged skin.  Niacinamide can reduce fine lines and the appearance of hyperpigmented spots, with improvement in overall blotchiness. Stimulates collagen synthesis and the production of ceramide - a lipid compound that contributes to the functional and structural integrity of the skin barrier.  Theoretically, by improving barrier integrity, niacinamide may help the skin become more resistant to external irritants.
